Online Catalog of Intersectional Hybrid Peony Stock

Our intersectional hybrid stock will be available for shipping in early 2007. We sell healthy, inspected, fresh-dug roots.We grade our roots as to the anticipated number of next year’s blooms.

Prices will be posted in early 2007.

PLEASE NOTE Our Grading Standards: We have higher standards than the industry average. Small buds (eyes) usually do not bloom the first season, so we do not include them in our count.

We have the following three grades for sale. Pricing for each peony is noted by its grade as follows:

· Extra-Large: 3 to 6 potential first-year blooms
· Large: 2 to 4 potential first-year blooms
· Medium: 1-3 potential first-year blooms

In just 2 to 3 years, when your plant has matured you can anticipate up to twenty or more blooms on one plant.

Callies Memory
6"-8" yellow cream bloom with nice maroon flares and picotee edge. Has good plant form with handsome foliage. Semi double to double.

First Arrival 
Pink to Lavender blooms of semi-double form. Carpels enclosed by a lavender sheath and circled by yellow stamens and red flares at base of petals. 26"-30" bush of symmetrical, mounded form, foliage to the ground. 6"-8" blooms on established plants.

Hilliary
Opens loose double red with very fine plant habit and dark green foliage. In full sun blooms handsomely  fade to a cream on the outside of the petals while the inner petals retain the red color.

Julia Rose
Single to semi-double bloom opening a cherry red then to orange and later yellow. Will show flowers in 3 colors at one time on a plant. Excellent plant habit makes for a good garden plant.

Lemon Dream
Fully double blossoms are a lemony yellow, accentuated by bursts of amethyst and lilac colors. The flower on this plant at times can be schizophrenic: some blossoms will bloom divided equally with solid lemonly yellow on one half and amethyst-lilac on the other, yup!, divided right now the middle. While at the same time, other blossoms have varying bursts of amethyst and lilac colors on the lemony flowers. You've gotta see it to believe it!

A vigorous grower with dark green intersectional foilage; grows 28" - 34" tall. We have a limited amount of Lemon Dream. Order early.

Semi double to double yellow flower with red candy stripes running through the flower giving this bloom the appearance of an all day sucker. Dark green foliage. Spherical plant.

Morning Lilac
Medium size bloom on strong plant. Excellent foliage. Blooms a lavender pink color with white and deep fuchsia striping, dark center and red tipped carpels. Very floriferous.

Scarlet Heaven
Not the scarlet color I learned about in kindergarten; more of a rich ruby color. The photo speaks for itself. This plant will grow to 30" tall and the single flowers are held up by strong stems. Makes a great show in the garden with the brilliant yellow center.

TISSUE CULTURE AWARENESS:

Please be aware that there are lower cost tissue cultured (started in a test tube from plant tissues) intersectional peonies now on the market. In you read their smaller print, you will realize that they are generally sold in one quart pots or smaller and will require an additional 2 ore more years of growing before they might flower.
